When I go into uncertain situations, I usually carry a hematite stone. Not only does this elder absorb the negative energy, he also acts as a shield against negativity. In most cases, usually this is all I need.
At other times, I wear an amber fetish of an armadillo. This animal elder carries armored plates on its body as a shield. The amber enhances her ability in the metaphysical realm. With her armor, the armadillo sets out boundaries for me. Also, She alerts me to danger, then rolls us into a ball for safety.
The usual method of shielding is an anathema to me. I feel strange sending out light and having it harden into a hard shell. I feel that I am stuck inside and cannot get out. What I do is to ask the canary for her assistance. She sings her bright song of yellow energy, blasting out the negativity. Her light fills the positive shielding around me. When her light hardens into an egg shell, I feel safe. When I no longer need the shield, I ask the canary to sing her sonic song of sound and shatter it.
Wherever I go, I remember “Star Trek” and remind myself, “to engage shields.” I am a spaceship with invisible shields, which keep me safe from harm. It helps me to imagine the crew raising this defense shield around me.
Once I entered a New Age store, where someone I had conflicts with often went. In a corner, I felt a blast of icy negative energy. Immediately, I said, “Shields engage!” I asked the canary to sing her song to render this energy harmless. Then, I conducted my business and left. While going home in the car, I turned up the radio to blast out the negativity. Later I stood out in the rain, and let the remainder of the icy energy dissolve from me.
