South African Fur Seal and Australian Fur Seal are essentially the same except for a few slight cranial differences. Scientists believe that the South African Fur Seal is the parent stock of the Australian Fur Seal.
South African Fur Seal is capable of traveling long distances but does not usually migrate far. He spends most of his time in deep water within a few hours of his breeding grounds. South African Fur Seal can dive to great depths but prefers to feed near the surface.
During breeding season, South African Fur Seal hardly eats as he protects his territory. The largest of all Fur Seals, He engages in fierce battles for territory on the shore. South African Fur Seal pushes Rivals over with his chest, which can result in serious wounds.
South African Fur Seal is generally contented with his lot. He may travel long distances but He always returns to his place of birth to breed. The only time the South African Fur Seal is not content is when He is competing for a mate. Learn to be contented with who you are, because wherever you go there you are.
