How did you choose what animals to feature as teachers?
One reason for this website is to highlight the teachings of lesser-known animals. Websites containing the teachings of Wolf and Buffalo abound. Websites featuring the wisdom of Beetle or Bass are almost non-existent. People seek the teachings of less popular animals as well as those of the more popular animals. Finding for teachings about Eagle is easy to do; finding teachings about Emu is not.
In addition, the animals that I feature as teachers are ones that I have learned from.
Then, why did you include teachings from Crow, a popular animal?
I included them because Crows have taught me lessons, and They are part of an animal family that I wish to spotlight.
Will you feature Wolf, Bear, or other popular animals, eventually?
Probably. People have asked me to include them in my pages. As they have spoken to me, I have included their teachings.
What do you mean by Finned and Water Ones, Winged Ones, etc?
To have a term that is inclusive of a large group of disparate animals is difficult. I chose terms that I thought would describe the entire group. Finned and Water Ones are fish, crustaceans (crabs, etc), cephalopods (squids, etc), and other animals that live in the water. Crawling Ones are insects, mollusks, worms, and other animals that crawl on the land. Cold-Blooded Ones are reptiles and amphibians. Winged Ones are birds. Warm-Blooded Ones are mammals.
What are the Family Teacher pages and the Individual Teacher pages?
To have a page labeled “Turtle” does a disservice for the individuals in the Turtle family. Snapping turtles are aggressive when encountering a stranger, while diamondback terrapins have a mild disposition. Green turtles are seagoing turtles, while snapping turtles prefer to live in freshwater ponds. However, all turtles have shells, lay eggs, and move slowly on land. As group, they have lessons to teach, and as do the individual turtles.

What are these popular Animal Teachers that you mention?
Buffalo, Bear, Coyote, Deer, Dolphin, Whale, Wolf, Crow!Raven, Eagle, Hawk, Hummingbird, Owl, Frog, Lizard, Snake, Turtle, Bee, Butterfly, and Spider.
Who are you?
I am an amateur naturalist, who has studied animals since childhood. I have taken classes in wildlife rehabilitation. I am also a Shaman of the Medicine Wheel and a Ma'heo'o Reiki Master. (Both disciplines require close attention to animals for healing and for learning.) I am also a Dolphin Trilogy Reiki Master, and have experienced directly the animals' energies.
I offer on my business website Inner Journeys, for a reasonable fee, to find your Animal Teachers, their place on your personal medicine wheel, and how they work in your life. Or you can check Services on this website for empowerments, classes, and books by me.
