Because of the lack of black spots on His body, Brook Trout is different from other Trout and Salmon. Dark green in color, Brook Trout has instead mottled, squiggly markings from His head to tail. However, like other Trout and Salmon, He has lavender colors that shimmer on His sides.
One of the most beautiful sights that a person can witness is seeing hundreds of Brook Trout swimming their way across a lake to their spawning streams. In their fall spawning colors, Brook Trout males are a majestic sight in scarlet reds and shimmering purples.
Brook Trout prefer the clear, cold streams of the mountains. If the water has even a touch of acidity, He will leave. Brook Trout is the "miner's canary" for streams and creeks. He warns of increasing "acidity" in your life, and rewards you by leading you to clear streams.
However, remember that this magnificent Fish demands clear, cold spring-fed waters. Because of this, Brook Trout are one of nature's most fragile creatures, and lives a short life.
