(Emu)
In auz astrology, Ann Williams-Fitzgerald continues her exploration of Australian animals. She corresponds the Australian animals of the Southern Hemisphere with the signs of the Zodiac of the Northern Hemisphere. This companion book to her other two efforts (Wisdom of the Australian Animals and Australian Animal Tarot Deck) delves into twelve animals as Zodiac signs. In addition, each animal is presented with many New Age associations, such as part of the body they govern. The author further explains the meanings of the crystals, planets, and energies of each animal. The lively illustrations of the animals are in black and white. The animals covered (in order of the Zodiac) in auz astrology are: Red Kangaroo ! Wallaby, Hairy-Nosed Wombat, Sugar Glider, Koala, Frilled-Neck Lizard ! Gecko, Echidna, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo ! Galah, Red Back Spider, Kookaburra ! Kingfisher, Goanna, Emu, and Platypus.
Emu has the Zodiac sign of Aquarius and is associated with the planet Uranus. Emu’s stone, the garnet, “is the stone of commitment and allows you to flow with your available energies.” According to the author, Emu’s key words are “Rational, Progressive, Erratic, and Unprincipled.” Emu’s affirmation, “I finish what I start” is the same in Wisdom of the Australian Animals. However, Emu’s teachings in that book and card set are different (“Attentiveness, Action, Completion, Fire, Commitment, and 'Gonna'”.)
The teachings of The Wisdom of Australian Animals, Australian Animal Tarot Deck and auz astrology complement each other. These Australian “animal wisdom” books and cards are meant to balance each other. Use them together as a set for learning what the Australian animals have to teach.
