Long-necked, white, and graceful, Swans are generally regarded as ornamental birds that float serenely in garden ponds. However, that is a false image. Robust Birds, Whooper Swans migrate from the Arctic to Europe, while Trumpeter Swans go to Canada. Black Swan wanders Australia looking for food. Despite Swans’ graceful gliding beauty, They are ill-tempered Birds. Approach a Swan’s nest during nesting time and you will get your arm broken.
People say that when Swans die, They sing their most beautiful song, called the “Swan Song”. Because of this, Swans have become associated with poets and bards. Scientists have noticed that Swans do sing just before They die.
Also, people associate Swans with purity and fidelity. In folklore, two Swans with their necks intertwined represent married love. They do mate for life, and remain devoted to each other. In fact, Both Swan Parents take of their young Cygnets and remain a family.
Because of Swans’ gracefulness on water and air, as well as their white color, many people saw Swans as Sacred Birds. Since Swans were companions to Gods, people named a constellation in the sky “Cygnus, the Swan”. Since the Swan stars were shaped in a cross, Christians thought that Swan represented Christ’s perfect love for his Church.
Swan Family teaches hidden strength. Watching Swans glide in a pond, people assume that They are fragile Birds. Little do they know that Swans can break a person’s arm with a beat of their wings. Swan Family tells you to develop your inner strength. Remember not everything that seems fragile is.
